CI would like to thank State Street Global Advisors for their gift of $5000.00. This donation will be used to build our picnic area behind the community center. We are very excited to have such a wonderful company support our efforts in Cabbagetown.

The Cabbagetown Initiative would like to thank some wonderful Cub Scouts who came to work on the area outside the Community Center. The Scouts (and some of their moms and dads) worked with Tova Baruch and Ashley Derrick fertilizing plants and flowers, mulching, raking, learning about nature, and playing just a little on the playground!
Thanks to: Charlie, John, Jack, Bahjat, Tommy, Brent, Alex, and a dad, Stuart Peskin, who set this up for them! We hope that it will become a regular occurrence.

So, THE PARK PLANS ARE OUT AND CONTRACTORS ARE BIDDING ON THEM AT THIS MOMENT. The contractors will be placing their bids for the building of Cabbagetown Park until March 16. There is also a pre-bid meeting on February 23 where the contractors will come and ask CI and the architect from ECO’s specific questions about the park. We are very excited that this is finally happening!
