Park GroundBreaking Ceremony!

CICDC is pleased to announce that construction has begun on Cabbagetown Park!  An official Groundbreaking Ceremony took place on Earth Day, Friday, April 22, 2005.  We felt like there would be no better time to celebrate a new park in Atlanta than Earth Day.  This wonderful three and a half acres of green space in an intown neighborhood is a result of residents coming together and dedicating themselves to this goal.  The park is going to be a beautiful area where residents can come and relax in the shade or the sun, play Frisbee on the open lawn, or take the paths to the sitting hill and have a picnic.

Construction on the park is expected to take six months.

Here are a few pictures from our Groundbreaking Ceremony held on Friday, April 22! The event drew over 70 residents and other Atlanta individuals who are very excited that this park is finally being built!
